How is CELPIP Writing scored?

CELPIP Writing is scored by trained human raters on four criteria: Task Fulfilment (did you address all parts of the prompt?), Coherence and Cohesion (logical organization and linking), Vocabulary (range and accuracy), and Grammar (accuracy and variety). What is the difference between CELPIP Writing Task 1 and Task 2?

CELPIP Writing Task 1 requires you to write an email or letter (150–200 words) responding to a given situation — for example, a complaint, request, or apology. Task 2 asks you to respond to a survey with two or three written answers (150–200 words total). Both tasks are graded separately and contribute equally to your Writing CLB score.
